A Thatcham approved alarm will provide two benefits. It will considerably diminish the risk of theft and also reduce the cost of annual insurance premiums. Thatcham is an independent not for profit vehicle security research centre. A Thatcham immobiliser must isolate at least 2 circuits on the engine to prevent it from starting without a coded touch key. The starter motor is the most important to isolate to avoid it turning over and save power. With the problem of joy riders becoming acute in the early 1990's The British Insurance industry tasked Thatcham with improving vehicle security. For an alarm system to be approved by Thatcham it must reach certain standards.

Pioneer AVIC-F900BT The AVIC-900BT is a fully integrated audio, video and navigation system that comes in a 2-DIN format and stores map data for the whole of Europe in its 2 GB internal memory. Add Points of Interest or audio and video files that you’ve stored on an SD Memory Card or USB device. The AVIC-F900BT plays most file and disc formats, including: CD, DVD, DivX. It is also equipped with an attractively designed 5.8-inch WVGA touch screen. The system has 3 RCA pre-outs, enabling you to connect external amplifiers as well as additional speakersand subwoofers. Its finishing touch is integrated Parrot Bluetooth wireless telephony. Price fitted including VAT £1,195. The system has to be adapted including a wiring harness, can-bus adapter and is fitted by specialists with experience of Mustangs who come to our premises. In the US they only broadcast over even numbered frequencies, the effect of this is that the factory fit radios are not set to receive UK frequencies ending in odd numbers. To enable reception of all frequencies a UK sourced HiFi is required. If you would like a UK compatible HiFi please contact us with your requirements and we will investigate the best deal available from a selection of top brands.

Prior to a vehicle being shipped to the UK, we are able to offer 2 extra keys. Cost including postage & VAT £85 Please note that it is very difficult to source duplicate keys for US Ford vehicles in the UK. UK Ford main dealerships do not have the facilities, it is not possible to have duplicate keys cut in the UK. There are a few specialists that can issue new re-coded keys, but this requires old keys to be de-activated. |
