Kent Car Imports Ltd provides UK customers with a safe and complete ordering, delivery and ownership service. We organise everything so that you can receive your vehicle ready to enjoy on UK roads.

We specialise in importing new American Ford vehicles and also other makes. We are able to offer: shipping, IVA, DVLA registration and transportation for most vehicles. Please contact us with your requirements.

Order Procedure

Please complete the order form at the foot of the 'ONLINE quotes - orders' page, and fax or post with a photocopy of the back page of your passport (passport not necessary for company purchases). You will need to request a quote for the model(s) required.
You will be sent the following: Franchised Ford main dealers Offer confirmation, order form, contact name and payment instructions.
The Ford dealer will need a deposit of 15% of the price in US dollars before placing your order, and Kent Car Imports Ltd brokerage fee is also due.
On receipt of funds a dealer's confirmation and Kent Car Imports receipt will be sent to you.
Shortly after the vehicle arrives at the dealership you will be sent a confirmation that the vehicle has been checked and that it agrees to the order form. The dealer will then require payment of the final balance. Kent Car imports will also need to be paid the import costs and road tax and registration fee as shown on the quote. This is to cover the shipping, IVA modifications, testing, warranty and transport.
On the vehicles arrival in the UK Customs & Excise will demand payment of the import duty comprised of import tax and VAT by wire payment direct to Customs & Excise. We will send you a letter advising exactly how to make this payment. (Import tax and VAT are calculated using the sterling equivalent of the Dollar price paid including shipping on the date that the vehicle entered the UK. Customs will send a confirmation of receipt of duties.
On receipt of the Customs payment the vehicle will be collected from the port and the IVA modifications and testing completed. We will then request the following original documents (faxes or photocopies are not accepted by the DVLA) for DVLA Registration: Customs duty confirmation, passport, utility invoice, insurance certificate.
On completion of the registration, the number plates will be fitted. We will then contact customers to organise a mutually convenient delivery date. The vehicles are delivered by car transporter.
At every stage of the process the order tracking will be updated. It will show the production date, arrival at the dealership, in the process of shipment, at UK Customs, being modified and IVA tested and ready to transport to the door. See order tracking.
